China Fights On is a fundraising poster of about 1943 for United China Relief, a member agency of the National War Fund, signed Gaydos. A young Chinese soldier looks up at formations of aircraft, and four red characters at the side carry a Chinese slogan the archive renders as "Resist in war, build the nation."
A soldier looking up
The archive's description: a young Chinese soldier, wearing the Nationalist white-sun badge on his cap, gazes upward at formations of aircraft, and one plane carries the Chinese roundel. Four red characters, read top to bottom, stand at the right. The artist's signature, Gaydos, is at top right.

A private relief agency
United China Relief is the issuer, and FRAME types it as an NGO with the purpose "Fundraise." The sheet names it a member agency of the National War Fund. No U.S. government office appears on it. The rights line records it as published without a copyright notice, and the Library of Congress lists no known restrictions. The rights line also dates it "c. 1943," so the year is the catalog's estimate.
A foreign government's slogan on an American appeal
The archive identifies 抗戰建國 as the Nationalist government's own wartime slogan, and points out that it has been carried into an American fundraising poster. The English text does not translate it, so a reader without Chinese met the slogan without its meaning, and a reader with Chinese met a government's political line inside a charity appeal.
The archive tags transfer and glittering generalities. "CHINA FIGHTS ON" asks for admiration and money in one phrase, and the cap badge and roundel tie the soldier to his state's insignia. Giving to a relief agency was voluntary, and the poster makes its case by honoring the soldier. The archive's note says plainly whose slogan the red line is; the English text on the poster does not.
