A 2024 Biden White House social-media card states that more than 27 million women of reproductive age live in states with abortion bans in effect and calls on Congress to restore the protections of Roe.
What the card says
White type on a blue field, no picture. Two sentences and a web address. The first states a number. The second tells Congress what to do about it.
More than 27 million women
of reproductive age in the
U.S. now live in states with
abortion bans in effect.
It's time for Congress to
heed President Biden’s calls
and restore the protections
of Roe once and for all.

Who issued it
The White House under President Biden. The archive's image comes from Wikimedia Commons, which credits the White House Facebook page and tags the card as a White House work. The archive dates it to 2024 and gives no day. The source is openly identified.
How to read it
The archive files the card under card stacking and states the reasons briefly. The figure stands alone. The card gives no total to set it against, no date for the count, no definition of "ban," and no source. A reader cannot tell from the card whether "ban" means a prohibition at every stage or a limit after some point in pregnancy, and the difference matters to the number.
That is a fair criticism of the form, not of the cause. Whether abortion should be legal, and at what stage, is a question on which Americans of good faith disagree sharply. The card takes one side, which a President is entitled to do. The concern is method. A government account with a national audience chose a large unsourced number and a call to action, and left out what a reader would need to weigh the claim.
There is also a structural point the card makes openly. Its own wording treats the protections of Roe as gone and asks Congress, not a court or an agency, to restore them. That is the constitutional route, argued in public under the President's name, and the right way for the dispute to be fought, whichever side one takes.
For the other side of the same argument in the street, see the 1978 Right to Life march signs. Both should be read with the same questions: what is claimed, what is missing, and who is speaking. The abortion debate case study discusses this card and notes that it gives no date, no definition of a ban, and no source for the figure.
