A type-only English poster distributed in the Philippines and signed NAMFREL, filed with U.S. Information Agency posters for Asia, catalog date 30 July 1953. It reads "Nobody can stop us from exercising our God-given right to vote" and "see you at the polls November-10" (NAID 5730045).
What the sheet prints
The archive describes a type-only sheet in slanted block capitals, a date line at the foot, and an imprint. The whole text fits in a few lines.
NOBODY CAN STOP US FROM EXERCISING OUR GOD-GIVEN RIGHT TO VOTE
see you at the polls NOVEMBER-10
. NAMFREL .
NAMFREL on the face, RG 306 in the file
The only name on the face is NAMFREL. The National Archives files the sheet in Record Group 306 with the U.S. Information Agency's propaganda posters distributed in Asia (series NAID 1767935), under a catalog date of 30 July 1953. The record does not explain how NAMFREL and the American agency shared the work, and this page does not fill that gap. FRAME rates the source blurred.
The same series holds a registration notice signed NAMFREL with the same catalog date. That notice gives election day as Tuesday, November 10, 1953, which matches the date line here.
A right that comes before the state
FRAME tags the poster glittering generalities and bandwagon. "God-given right" puts voting beyond argument, and "us" and "see you at the polls" pull the reader into a crowd heading for the precinct. Both tags fit. The archive files its themes as elections and religion.
The claim itself is one Americans should recognize. A right that comes from God, not from the state, is a right the state did not grant and cannot take back. "Nobody can stop us" is a promise of defiance against whoever might try to block a voter. The sheet names no party and no candidate, and asks for nothing but turnout.
The criticism is the one that runs through this file. Election material that a foreign government helped circulate should say so, even when it is nonpartisan and even when its message is a good one. This sheet does not. The wider program, and the line between an overt agency and a covert one, is on the USIA posters abroad hub.
