A Farsi "Latest News" poster distributed in Tehran, catalog date 27 December 1956, in the U.S. Information Agency series. Three photographs advertise a cinema newsreel: Hungarians marching for national freedom, a U.S. delegate at the United Nations on Middle East peace, and Eisenhower's re-election (NAID 6948854).
What the poster advertises
This is a bill for a newsreel. The archive describes a sheet in magenta and yellow with three photographs and a boxed cinema notice. One caption per photograph, then an invitation to see the reel that night, then a title, "Iran News."

Iran News
A banner inside the Hungary photograph is in Italian and only partly legible. The archive reads fragments of it, including "D'UNGHERIA," and marks the gaps.
Who made it
The sheet sits in the U.S. Information Agency's file for Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, one of a lettered run of Iran News posters in the archive that starts at 52a. The archive classes the source as unidentified: the words "Iran News" are the only title in the transcription, and no American office is named. Neither the cinema nor a print run is named.
How to read it
FRAME tags it transfer. A U.S. president and a U.S. delegate share a bill with a freedom march, as one reel of "latest world news." The captions report events without comment, so the sheet's case rests on which stories it chose.
The name is the harder question. A newsreel titled "Iran News" that came from a foreign government's information service could be taken by a viewer for local news. The record does not show how the reel itself was labelled on screen. The same country had seen a sharper case: this site's page on Mossadeq's Spy Service covers a typescript the CIA prepared in 1953 for placement in Iranian media, speaking as ordinary Iranians. The Iran News bill is a milder thing, but it raises the same question of who is speaking. For Hungary in other U.S. Information Agency sheets, see Story of Hungary and the agency hub.
