US COVID-19 public health campaigns and messaging (2020–2022)
US COVID-19 public health campaigns and messaging from 2020 to 2022, in this edition, are the federal posters and the March 16, 2020 guidelines mailer, the state vaccine lotteries, and the New York State and New York City incentive programs. Dates are taken from the office that issued each item.
From March 2020 through 2022, United States offices asked people to change daily habits and, in 2021, offered prizes, payments, and credentials tied to COVID-19 vaccination. This hub collects the campaigns written up here: posters and mailers, slogans, state lotteries, and the New York programs. It does not give health advice, and it does not decide whether a program changed a vaccination rate. That question is confined to the cited research section on the incentives page.
Where the word "propaganda" fits
On this site, "propaganda" means an appeal from an identifiable issuer that asks an audience to believe or do something. The word marks the method. It is not a finding that the appeal was false, and it is not a finding that it was wise. The FRAME archive states its own catalog definition on its about page, and the objects that come from that archive are linked back to it. COVID-19 misinformation, foreign influence claims, and the origin debate are not sections of this hub.
What the pages cover
The gallery and the three object pages come first: the CDC's December 2020 poster, the March 16, 2020 guidelines mailer, and a text-only record of the July 2020 "New York Tough" sheet. Lotteries, New York State, and New York City follow, including the May 13, 2021 food offer at city mobile vaccine buses. The incentives table links those pages and adds the June 2, 2021 National Month of Action and the July 29, 2021 Treasury statement on $100 payments. Slogans and PSAs are a separate page so they do not take the hub's title.
The FRAME archive's longer case study of official and contrarian COVID-19 claims is background only: the archive's 2020–2022 messaging case study. It is not rewritten on this site, and its title is not used as a heading here.
What did the campaigns ask people to do?
The March 16, 2020 card says "slow the spread" and lists staying home when sick, limiting gatherings, and hygiene. The CDC poster of December 21, 2020 says "Stay Home," "Wear a Mask," "Avoid Crowds," and "Wash Hands." The 2021 lottery and payment programs asked people to receive a vaccine in exchange for a chance at a prize or a stated sum. The documents are linked from the cards below. A protest sign that uses the word "plandemic" is in the archive and is not part of this hub.
